Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah of Namibia arrived in Tanzania on Friday for a three-day state visit at the invitation of President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
The Namibian leader was received at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) in Dar es Salaam by Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo and other senior government officials.
The visit comes as Tanzania and Namibia continue to deepen a relationship built on decades of cooperation, a shared history of the liberation struggle, and longstanding diplomatic ties.
During her stay, President Nandi-Ndaitwah is expected to hold bilateral talks with President Samia to expand cooperation in sectors considered important to the economic and social development of both countries.
The two leaders are also expected to witness the signing of several cooperation agreements between Tanzania and Namibia. The agreements are expected to cover areas of mutual interest as the two governments seek to increase collaboration and create new opportunities for their citizens.
The visit marks President Nandi-Ndaitwah’s first state visit to Tanzania since taking office earlier this year. Officials say it reflects the commitment of both countries to strengthen strategic relations, promote economic diplomacy, and increase trade and investment links.
Tanzania and Namibia have maintained close relations since the era of African liberation movements, with both countries continuing to cooperate through regional and continental institutions while pursuing broader economic partnerships.
