Tanzania

The United Republic of Tanzania is a sovereign state in East Africa, formed by the 1964 union between the mainland territory of Tanganyika and the Zanzibar Archipelago. It is a nation defined by its historical role as a beacon of Pan-Africanism and liberation, notably under its founding father, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere. As the largest country in East Africa by land area, Tanzania is a diverse multi-ethnic society with over 120 groups, unified by the national language, Kiswahili, and a long-standing tradition of internal stability.
