3. Correction Policy

Transparency is the foundation of SWT (Swahili Today).

We strive for accuracy in every report. However, if an error is made, our policy is to correct it as quickly and transparently as possible.

Reporting an Error

Our Process

  1. Verification: Once a potential error is reported, the Editor-in-Chief (Josephs Quartzy) and the relevant reporter will re-verify the facts.
  2. The Correction: If an error is found, we will update the article immediately.
  3. Labeling:
    • Minor Errors: For typos or grammatical errors that do not change the meaning of the story, we update the text without a note.
    • Substantial Errors: If a fact, name, or quote was incorrect, a clear “Correction” or “Update” note will be added to the top or bottom of the article explaining what was changed and why.
  4. Social Media: If the incorrect information was shared on our social media platforms, we will issue a corrected post on those same channels.
