The relationship between Donald Trump and conservative commentator and author Candace Owens has broken down in recent weeks, turning into a public back-and-forth filled with insults and accusations.
The biggest disagreement came over a U.S. surveillance law known as FISA Section 702.
Trump wants the law extended without changes, saying it is important for national security. But Owens strongly disagrees. She accused him of changing his position and abandoning the ideas that made him popular in the first place.
She called him a “fraud” and a “warhawk neocon,” saying he had done a “full 180.”
Trump responded by attacking her directly, calling her an “extremely low IQ individual” and suggesting she is no longer as influential as before. Adding that; she uses white men, have 0% fact check ratio on all credible fact checking sites and protects sex offenders.
They also disagree on foreign policy, especially on tensions involving Iran. Owens has warned against military escalation, while Trump has defended a tougher approach.
At one point, Trump grouped Owens with other critics and called them “stupid people” who don’t understand the bigger picture.
On April 25, the situation escalated again. Trump shared a mock TIME magazine cover on his Truth Social account, calling Owens “Vile Person of the Year,” accusing her of spreading lies.

The post appeared to be a reaction to claims Owens made about Brigitte Macron, France’s First Lady, which Trump described as “despicable.”
The tension has also been fueled by pro-Trump activist Laura Loomer, who made unverified claims about Owens’ situation. While those claims have not been confirmed, they have added more noise to the ongoing feud.
It shows a growing split among Trump supporters, especially on issues like government surveillance and foreign policy. Owens says Trump is moving away from his original message. Trump, on the other hand, is treating critics like disloyal voices
