Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science dedicated to creating systems capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. This includes functions such as reasoning, learning from experience, problem-solving, and understanding natural language. The field is rooted in the mid-20th-century ambition to simulate human cognitive processes through mathematical models and computational logic, evolving from early “expert systems” to modern neural networks that mimic the structure and function of the human brain.

The AI landscape is divided into several specialized domains that power the modern digital world. Machine Learning (ML) allows systems to improve their performance automatically through data analysis, while Deep Learning—a subset of ML—utilizes multi-layered neural networks to process complex information like images and speech. Other critical branches include Natural Language Processing (NLP), which enables machines to interact using human language; Computer Vision, which allows AI to “see” and interpret visual data; and Robotics, where AI is integrated with physical machinery. As a central pillar of the global economy, AI continues to drive innovation across every sector, from healthcare and finance to creative arts and autonomous transportation.
