Singer d4vd Arrested Without Bail in Celeste Rivas Hernandez Murder

A U.S. Singer and tiktoker, D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was taken into custody on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. LAPD says he is currently being held without bail as the case moves toward prosecutors.

The arrest follows a months-long investigation that began in September 2025, when workers at a tow yard in Hollywood reported a strong odor coming from an abandoned Tesla. Inside the vehicle, police found the decomposing remains of the teenage girl, who had previously been reported missing in 2024.

Investigators later confirmed that the car was registered to Burke. The case quickly drew national attention due to the disturbing circumstances and the involvement of a rising music figure.

Rivas, believed to be between 13 and 15 years old at the time of her disappearance, was from Lake Elsinore, California. Her remains were found months after she was last seen, raising serious questions about how long the body had been inside the vehicle and what exactly led to her death.

Authorities say Burke had already been under scrutiny before the arrest, with a grand jury reportedly reviewing evidence earlier this year. At one point, investigators noted he had stopped cooperating with the probe after initially indicating willingness to assist.

Police have not publicly disclosed a motive, and key forensic details — including the exact cause of death remain sealed as part of the ongoing investigation.

The case is expected to be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, which will decide whether to file formal murder charges.
