Six U.S. service members have been killed in action so far in the war with Iran, the Pentagon and U.S. Central Command have confirmed. The deaths occurred on March 1, 2026, when an Iranian drone strike hit a U.S. military facility in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait; a logistics hub supporting operations in the region. Officials said at least 18 other service members were wounded in the same attack.
So far, four of the six slain soldiers have been publicly identified by the U.S. military:
• Captain Cody A. Khork, 35
A U.S. Army Reserve officer from Winter Haven, Florida, Capt. Khork was assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command based in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a 17-year military veteran with deployments that included Saudi Arabia, Guantanamo Bay, and Poland.

• Sergeant 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, 42
Sgt. Tietjens, of Bellevue, Nebraska, served with the Army Reserve’s 103rd Sustainment Command. He had a long history of service, including past deployments in the Middle East.

• Sergeant 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, 39
From White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Sgt. Amor was also a member of the 103rd Sustainment Command. She was nearing the end of her deployment when she was killed, and family members have spoken publicly about her deep commitment to both her country and her family.

• Sergeant Declan J. Coady, 20
Sgt. Coady, of West Des Moines, Iowa, was the youngest of the identified soldiers. He had joined the Army Reserve in 2023 and was posthumously promoted from specialist after his death.
