After Iran Threat, Uganda Army Chief Muhoozi Demands ‘Most Beautiful Woman and $1Bn’ From Turkey

Chief of Uganda’s Defence Forces (CDF), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who recently drew global attention after offering military support to Israel and making aggressive remarks about Tehran, has now escalated tensions by targeting Turkey with a series of unusual demands.

In posts shared on X, Kainerugaba demanded $1 billion from Turkey, describing it as a “security dividend” tied to Uganda’s long-standing military role in Somalia. He argued that while Uganda handled security operations, Turkey benefited economically from investments in the region.

He warned that failure to meet the demand could trigger a complete breakdown in diplomatic relations, including the closure of embassies within 30 days.

The situation escalated further when Kainerugaba added a controversial personal demand, saying he also wanted the most beautiful woman” in Turkey as a wife, a remark that has drawn widespread criticism and backlash online.

The posts, some of which were later deleted, have sparked international concern over their tone and potential impact on Uganda’s foreign relations. Analysts say the combination of financial demands, personal remarks, and diplomatic threats is highly unusual in official military communication.

This is not the first time Kainerugaba’s social media activity has caused diplomatic friction. He has previously made provocative statements about foreign countries and leaders, often forcing official responses from the Ugandan government.

The latest remarks are now being closely watched as they intersect with broader geopolitical tensions, particularly his recent vocal support for Israel and hostile rhetoric toward Iran, further placing Uganda at the center of a growing international debate.
