Kamala Harris has indicated she is considering another bid for the White House in 2028, months after her defeat to Donald Trump in the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
Harris made the remarks on Friday while appearing alongside civil rights leader Al Sharpton at the annual convention of the National Action Network in New York.
During the event, Sharpton asked her directly whether she would run again in 2028. The question drew loud chants from the audience urging her to return to the race.
Harris stopped short of making a formal announcement but acknowledged she is weighing the idea.
“Look, I might run, I might run. I’m thinking about it,” she said, drawing applause from attendees.
The former vice president also pointed to her experience in the White House, where she served under Joe Biden from 2021 to 2025. She suggested that her time in office shaped her understanding of leadership and governance at the highest level.
Harris became the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in 2024 but was defeated by Trump in a closely watched race that returned him to power. Since then, speculation has grown over whether she would attempt a political comeback.
Her comments on Friday mark one of her most direct acknowledgments that a future presidential campaign remains under consideration, though no official campaign has been announced.
