Taylor Swift is taking her new album The Life of a Showgirl to the big screen. She’s planning a special event called The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, running only for three days in movie theaters when the album drops.
The event begins October 3, 2025 — the same day the album is released — and continues through October 5. It will show in all 540 AMC Theatres in the U.S., plus other theater chains like Regal and Cinemark. It will also happen in many other countries during the same weekend, with more locations joining later in October. Tickets cost about $12 before fees.
In those 89 minutes, fans will see things they won’t get anywhere else. The film-event will include the world premiere of the music video for her single “The Fate of Ophelia”, behind-the-scenes footage of how the video was made, lyric videos for songs on the new album, and Taylor’s reflections on what inspired the songs and how she worked on them.
Taylor encouraged fans to come wearing themed outfits if they want, maybe something from the Eras Tour or something orange cardigan-styled. She said that dancing is optional but very much encouraged. The screenings will begin at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time in the U.S. on October 3, with corresponding times in other zones.
One of the special touches: in AMC theaters, there will be no trailers or ads before the event. Everything starts directly at showtime. The program is designed to feel like a celebration — not just an album release but a shared experience with fans.
This event follows the success of her Eras Tour concert film, which was a big hit globally. The format shows she is leaning more into theatrical experiences, giving her fans moments that feel immersive and communal. She also teased that this album will have a different feel from her previous one, The Tortured Poets Department. She described The Life of a Showgirl as more joyful, dramatic, and full of energy.
Fans outside the U.S. will get access too. Canada, Mexico, the UK, Ireland, parts of Europe, Australia, New Zealand and many more countries are included in the rollout. Tickets go on sale in different countries—some starting September 19 in the U.S., others a little later.
